Interpersonal Relationships : Growth and Deterioration

There are various reasons why people form relationships and why people would want to sustain those relationships . Each and every person has a different reason or sometimes , a different agenda . In forming relationships and making connections with people , there are different cases and situations - some people use others for their benefit alone (like the social exchange theory , others want other people because they see that they are equal in terms of wealth , status , way of

thinking etc (as what the attraction theory supposes , while there are those who see that forming relationships should benefit both parties (as what the equity theory or interpersonal relationships suggest . Thus , forming relationships is not that easy to start nor are they easy to maintain and most especially , it would be much harder to break the relationship or in more neutral terms , to dissolve ' them

I think everyone has had an experience of building a relationship nurturing it , and appallingly , having to part ways and dissolve the relationship . It is quite hard and very miserable for something to be easily gone when a person has worked hard for it to grow - as in the case with intimate relationships . Almost everyone has had his or her heart broken or broke someone else 's heart . That may be a romantic way of putting it , as it is the general perception about such things .
