Paris Hilton Talks About Her DUI Arrest and Impending Jail Time : A Personal Disclosure

With just days to go before I enter prison for violating probation which was brought about by my second DUI arrest , I realize that I have taken several actions in my life for which I owe the public some explanation and apology

I am very sorry

I know those words are all

too easy to say and apologies can be considered useless at this time , but I am determined to show that I truly regret what I 've done and will take the necessary steps to ensure that I will not make the same mistakes in the future . I have the utmost respect for the law - I certainly am not above the law - and I take full responsibility of my actions . I do not expect to be treated any better just because of my money and social stature however , I also hope that I will not be treated worse for the same reason

These past weeks have been a roller-coaster of emotions for me . It 's not just my driving offence , its not just my impending jail time , but many issues happened at the same time and collectively took their toll on me I am anxious and afraid

Being sentenced to jail has jolted me to reality , that there will always be consequences for our actions and that these consequences may not always be what we expect . This experience has taught be how to be a good citizen - I learned many things I never would have known otherwise . I just hope other young people should learn from my mistake . Driving under the influence is not something that should be taken lightly - I know I cannot forgive myself if anyone is killed or harmed because of my disablement

I am hoping that my time spent behind bars will lead me towards further enlightenment . I see this experience as a blessing in disguise , an opportunity to make myself a better person . A time of healing is in br
