My Motivations to Learn English

English has successfully spread to many countries as an international language . Most countries , if not all , practice conversing using the said language . Personally , I practice this same process by writing and speaking English in my day-today life . I have observed that many people have struggled to learn and improve their English skills - including myself . But what does it really mean to learn the English subject Personally , learning the language means a lot to

me . This is due to the fact that I live in a country where English is the national language . I am determined to learn and master this language in to succeed and be highly competitive in the United States . I have enrolled in several English courses and became an ESL student living in a foreign land . I have motivated myself to gain more knowledge about the English subject in to acquire a college degree , to be competitive in the job market , and to blend and be accepted in society

Acquiring a college degree is my greatest motivation in learning the English language . I believe that a college degree will open many doors of opportunities for international students like me . In to succeed , foreign students like myself must do extensive studying and learning . Speaking and learning the language are not as easy as it may seem . This subject is important because it is one of the requirements needed to be granted an admission to a four-year university . More so , this subject serves as a training ground for students to learn how to write s . As a result , students can develop their speaking and writing skills to be ready for more advanced English courses

As mentioned earlier , my second motivation was to become competitive in the job market . From the experiences I had , majority of employers required most of their applicants to be fluent in the English language I had this one particular experience wherein an employer asked for my resume . Since I was taking ESL classes , I was able to put together an excellent resume that was concise , coherent and very informative about my educational and professional background . In addition to this , I was able to converse well with the interviewer , who I think was impressed with my performance . Interviews are intended to promote oneself to future employers . When potential employers are impressed , they will call the applicant for an interview and assess if that applicant is qualified for the position or not

The last motivation that I indicated was the fact that I wanted to blend in and be accepted by society . Wherever I go , English is the main language that the people of the United States use . From turning on the television to the conversations heard in the groceries , English is the primary language spoken by most people . More so...
