The movie will be faithful in portraying Bond 's formative years , showing how the 007 became the British agent providing a picture that gives a more human , younger version of James Bond as compared to what we know of today as the suave , cool agent , confident with ladies , capable of facing his ruthless enemies while playing poker games at the casino and technology-laden with his various gadgets for accomplishing an impossible task

At the start of the book , Bond is already a 007 agent while the opening portion of the movie showed Bond becoming an agent by killing two persons . In the novel , the first two kills was narrated by Bond . He described his victims to Mathis as a Japanese cipher and a Norwegian double agent in the book , while in the movie , the two persons killed were said to be a British double agent and one of his underlings
