Introduction

A new campus recruiter of ABC , Inc , making his very first effort at the company , has almost failed a hire orientation for 15 new trainees . In spite of the lack of time there are several very important things which need to be done as quickly as possible in order to start with the orientation right on time and have all the trainees working as planned as well as some questions which must be clarified

The new recruiter allocated the available time in the wrong way and did not

pay a needed amount of his attention to the details of preparation which were of high significance . So it is very important now not to continue wasting time but to organize the whole process in order to meet the Background

As a new employee who needs to gain trust and respect as a worthy and successful team-member , the recruiter hired 15 new trainees who would work and be a great help for one of his colleagues . A great volume of work is needed , but first the whole preparation which includes many items must be done . Although the period of time available for everything to be completed is quite short , the recruiter promised to keep the timetable and have everything done by the time for the orientation

Not having enough experience in the field of organization of such projects , the recruiter could not evaluate the available time as well as approach all the problems demanding a thorough consideration properly

As a result the recruiter has to deal with the following critical situation

Not all the applications are completed

Not all the transcripts are available

Drug tests were not conducted

Not enough copies of manuals (only 3 ) are made and these available ones are not complete

The room needed for the orientation is reserved for the whole month by another employee for

Quite a short period of time left for completing all the tasks

The recruiter feels lost in this situation and can not come up with a possible solution

Alternatives

The first alternative that comes to the mind is firing this recruiter and hiring a new one who would try to solve this situation . But in these case we have to deal with the following risks

We might loose quite a good worker . Although he still has not done anything good yet but we must take into consideration the fact that it was his first task and people are different . Some people do their job perfect from the very beginning but others need some time before they really feel comfortable and do their job just as needed . This recruiter had 6 months but may be it was not enough time for him . One should give him a chance to show what he is able to
