and Kitchen tools . S W have a strong brand identity . It has a major market share in which it operates . S W operates on unified strategy of complete marketing concept and it has strong product range , established brand equity and well thought and planed national media advertising . It has a strong network of retailers who can store / stock the whole S W product range due to it synergistic marketing efforts and ability to coordinate cohesively , its higher prices with advanced placements , co advertising Cross promotions are it 's stronger points

Weaknesses : The major weakness of the S W is that its products are not cost effective . The quality of the products is not too good due to its older machines and plants . Location of its manufacturing plants also creates its own kind of weakness i . e . it has been located in high labor cost urban areas . Large number of different products also creates confusion among its distribution channels and distributors have to maintain the whole inventory of all products , which ultimately needs more money to invest on the part of distributors . Due to dominant market position and undue influence over distributors , internal dissatisfaction has been generated among distributors . One of the important weakness S W is facing that one of the emergent product range of Cordless segment is almost absent from S W products . Opportunity S W have the opportunity to expand due to its local and long time presence in the existing market . Only one company can complete with S W and so they have the opportunity to compete with their major competitor i . e . Makatume . Even their competitor Makatume does not have all product range . So in some products S W have the virtual monopoly and it has an opportunity to grow fast enough

Threats : S W is facing the major threats from low cost products , which have quality , robustness and durability . The next threat comes from the newer market of cordless segment where it is almost absent . This cordless market is expanding and consuming its market share . Another major threats are coming from Far East imports from china with lower prices and good value
