Management is all about interacting with others and influencing them to accomplish organization goals . Communication

becomes central for a leadership to be successful in having a working organization . While reading an article by Bakar and Aman (2005 ) I realized that leader-member exchange models calls for cordial hierarchical relationship between superiors and subordinates . Due to time and authority pressure , leaders may form close relationship with few key subordinates or the inner group which tends to alienate the rest or the out-group . Since the leader is responsible for the performance of the whole group , leaders must for close relationship with all subordinates

Situation

When working for company X as a secretary , I noticed that the performance of the company varied from department to department . I noted that most of those departments which were performing constituted of what was seen like an inner group since the heads of those department had close communication with the chief executive . The other departmental heads looked somehow alienated from the organization management especially with the CEO . Their issues were not given...
