This is why , in to manage the risks and the uncertainty in business , business ethics somehow has

relieved the possibility of evil intentions ' materialization . In human resource management , there are various issues that need to be considered especially in decision making

For example , laws on business ethics consider nepotism or giving favor to family members as unethical . Part of the human resource management is the hiring , and firing of employees , which above all should be based upon merits . However , there are instances that favoritism can occur Nepotism is giving favoritism to family members in to get a job As it is provided in the article , Nepotism at Work (n .d , nepotism refers to the act of favoring relatives at work in employment or economic terms as opposed to them being judged on ability or merit Obviously , nepotism or family issues create ethical problems because it can duly disadvantage other people , who may be highly qualified but are never considered in favor of a family member of the human resource specialist

In addition , another common ethical problem in human resource management is the issue of discrimination and harassment . Harassment creates ethical problems because it can limit the potentials of an individual and make him uneasy with his job , workplace and co-employees This can also result to indecent proposals and giving favors harassing a helpless employee . This commonly happens with rank and employees being abused and harassed by superiors

It cannot be denied that ethical problems occur in the business environment . Although it is the responsibility of everyone to be cautious and sensitive about these problems , it is also the responsibility of the human resource management professional to ensure that these problems are being addressed
