Roles of government , businesses and community in protecting the environment

The policies for environment protection are made and enforced by the Environment Protection Authority (EPA ) which is established and funded by the government . The EPA has many important roles in protecting the environment and some of these roles include making the environment protection standards and policies , enforcing the laws which protect the environment against pollution caused by industries or the community

managing the stations for monitoring air , water among others , advising the industries , the community and even the government on ways of preserving the environment , supporting the campaigns which educate people about environment preservation and many more (EPA Victoria 2006 . Usually , it is advisable for government to consult the businesses before making the environment protection policies this is in to reduce conflicts occurring in enforcing the standards

The most important role of the industries , foreign or local , in preserving the environment is to implement the environment protection policies and if possible make there own tighter policies . In rare cases the industries also advice the government on how to make the environment protection policies that are of mutual benefit
