If the patient is wearing a hood , decontaminate the hood first by washing with soap and water or 5 sodium hypochlorite . Remove the hood by cutting the straps and zipper cord . Rinse scissors afterwards

If the patient is wearing a mask , decontaminate it by wiping it 5 sodium hypochlorite . Remove the face mask then wipe the patient 's chin neck and back of the ear

If the patient is wearing an overgarment , remove all contamination from the overgarment , cut and remove the overgarment and place it in a plastic bag

Caution : Rinse the scissor after each use to avoid further contamination

Remove gloves , if present , by instructing the patient to stretch his arm , grasping the fingers of the gloves , turning the gloves inside-out and disposing it in a plastic bag
