I firmly believed that I attained a certain level of maturity comparable to some of the adults that I know , or perhaps even higher . I used to speak as if I was in the twilight of my life , for I

br articulated as if I was a learned person with experiences others never had . That was because I thought I did not need experiences in to know , in to understand the mysteries that life has . I never acknowledged that I knew nothing of the world , as if I just knew it without experiencing it
A certain number of years ago , I once opened a book on Buddhism and turned into a page with a very peculiar image . It seems like a portrait foreign from my eyes and have awed at the mystery it holds . It holds such complexity despite the simplicity of detail that cloaks it . It is monochromatic , composed of simple lines and some curves that as a sum , resembles to me a certain angle of a man . Indeed a man I thought , but as it may seem correct unto me , I have become a victim of facades . So I took more effort in proving myself wrong , for the answer had not been obvious . Days went by and alas , I have seen the image of a cow , suddenly finding its pair of ears and its huge nose right before me . I could not accept that it took me long to understand the picture what the picture really is . For I believe that I am a person with a relatively high level of intelligence , yet I was not able to comprehend the essence of the image
I was aghast that my own senses failed me , and most of all my Dad was wrong . I have realized then that I have been sheltered from the pressures of life that what I saw was what I automatically conceived in myself to be the truth . I was millions of miles away from being a little Siddhartha . I tend to give minimal efforts in exploring through the identity of

something I have not previously encountered . Perhaps it was because of my age , then again I saw myself as a youngster who also possesses adult perspectives . My young mind should
have provided me the curiosity , the power to search and to not be satisfied of what the sight could transcend . Antoine de Exupery once said , It is only with the heart that one can see rightly , what is essential is invisible to the eye ' And I am in this . Just like the boa constrictor that the grown-ups claim to be a hat , even if it is not...
