1 . Capture and recapture method

The estimates were too high because in the capture and recapture method , it takes into account the number captured in the first catch and are marked (M , the capture (C ) and the number of marked organisms in the second capture denoted as R . During the estimation of the population , you take CM /R which means that the outcome will be influenced by the value of R . In this case it has been alleged that it is harder

to recapture a rat and therefore the value of R will be slightly lower than the expected value It will follow that the quotient will be higher than normal because the denominator (R ) is low

2 . Ecology and dessert flowers

Biotic factors that determine the structure and composition of vegetation in nature played a part in the diminished four species of plants (flowers ) in the fenced plot . After pollination in plants , the pollinated flower closes up forming some scales that harden with time to form cones that protect the developing seeds for around two years . In some species when the seeds mature , the corns open and the seeds are dispersed by wind which can account for the continuity of one plant species . In other plants , small rodents like kangaroo rats are required to crack open the cones so that the seeds can be dispersed and therefore the exclusion of the rodents...
