Behavoir Change
1 . I am currently at the final stage of my previously set goal of losing 20 pounds in three months . I have exceeded the original time frame and am modifying my goals for the final stage 2 . I was able to reach my short term goal of losing 1 pound every week but I was not able to compete all 20 lbs in 3 months and ended up with just losing 15 lbs so far . However , my short term goal of 1 pound a week kept me focused and made me not expect too

much from myself . Since this goal was not so demanding for me , I was able to meet it comfortably . I believe that having such short term goals made the entire task of losing that much weight much more manageable and realistic
3 . As mentioned back in part A , I rely on the support coming from my family and friends for assistance in pursuing my goals . Over the last weeks they have been very supportive of me and they have never failed to congratulate me whenever I achieved the small , 1-pound victories Because of their encouragement , I believe that I was able to feel more confident especially during times when it became very difficult to hold back from eating food that I had promised to stay away from
4 . Although I have made considerable progress , I have not yet rewarded myself as promised with a shopping spree for new clothes . This is because I truly want to be able to obtain my ideal weight first before I shop since what I will buy will depend highly on the weight that I aim to maintain . However , I do expect to reward myself as soon as I lose 5 more pounds by the end of the month
5 . The main obstacle was that the initial goal of 20 lbs in 3 months turned out to be not very realistic . It was good that I had established short term goals of losing just 1 pound a week . Still , there was no way of knowing how much weight I could actually lose at the start so it was still good to have had the optimistic 20 lbs in 3 months goal . Thus , I do not think that I would have done anything differently
6 . Given the experience , I now know that the most realistic goal would be to lose about a little more than 1 pound every week . Thus , this is my goal for the next four weeks
7 . My next SMART goal is to lose 5 pounds within the next four weeks This entails losing 1 .25 pounds a week . I believe that this goal is very realistic based on my experience in the past three months...
