To jettison or not ? Jettison is simply throwing something away (unnecessary or something that hinders a process , in the given situation the commanding officer in charge of the operation was given command to jettison the ladder where the injured soldier is clinging . If you were the commanding officer , what would you do

The command is short and simple--jettison the ladder . What are the factors to be considered in this kind of situation ? First , what is the goal

of the commanding officer in sending the pilot and the medic ? The duo is to pick up a wounded soldier . What is the current scenario the duo and the wounded soldier are facing ? The enemies are aiming gunshots at the helicopter damaging its fuel tank

To pick up the wounded soldier , the pilot 's best attempt is to lower the rope ladder . But since the fuel tank is now damaged , the helicopter could not withstand the added weight of the suspended wounded soldier If they continue with this setup , the three of them will not be able to return safely at the command headquarter . To jettison the rope ladder would mean living the wounded soldier at the disposal of the enemies

Soldiers are people who serve the country especially in times of disputes or war . They are for the service of the people . They are to assure the safety of the citizens to possible life-threatening events In many cases of war , soldiers at duty already accept their fate Whatever happened to them , these soldiers are already prepared . Soldiers believe that in every war , their lives are at stake

Soldiers are also humans . They also have the right to live . In cases of war , they deserve to save their lives , too if there is an option , or if there is the possibility . We have watched some movies where soldiers also want to spare their lives . In those movies , we have seen that many soldiers will do their best to both serve the country and at the same time , save their own lives . That to be able to serve the country longer they have live longer
