The term regional jet which is commonly referred to as RJ is a short haul flights that constitutes of turbofans powered aircrafts . They are aircrafts with capacity of 32 to 90 passengers and are spread through out the world after the advent of Airline Deregulation that was done in the United States in 1978 . There are a number of regional airlines that operates the regional jets through out the

world . They have spread through out the world as they are now posing a threat to other major airlines as they are a threat due to their convenience and reduced fare

Present and Future Impact of Regional Jet

With the increase in expansion of the regional jets , there are various advantages and disadvantages that are faced by both commuter and major airlines . They are major threats as they are offering some services that are not offered by their counterparts in the industry . RJs are flexible compared to major airlines jets as their landing and takeoff requirements are less . Most of the RJs are STOL (short take off and landing ) as they can perform better in regional airports while the Jumbos needs to take longer runways thus become restricted to operate in regional services
