Trapped by fear , Aunt Jennifer wants to be bold and free like her tigers in her tapestry . In to explain the condition of Aunt Jennifer as trapped by fear one has to look her character as a wife revolted with her matrimonial existence . She was not capable to run away from cruelty and violence of her husband . She wanted to be bold

and to get free from her unsympathetic world through her creation of the tigers using needlecraft
