The increase in prevalence rates amongst the youth has led to the federal government unrolling a program aimed at arresting the situation The federal government has backed an abstinence only sex education and has provided funds for the program . The suitability of this program is at scrutiny with majority feeling that the comprehensive sex education is the most appropriate . Concerns over the recent years have been rife over the high prevalent rate of HIV /AIDS amongst the young people aged below 25 years . These infections , as studies have established , are as a result of the youth engaging in unprotected sex . These findings have sent shockwaves to the government as well as to the parents .
