Appeal admission decision

Thank you for giving me another opportunity to become a student of the University of California . The University of California is my primary choice above all other colleges , mainly because it offers a great program that will lay a foundation for graduate studies and an impressive learning environment that offers great motivation for achievements . The opportunity to be part of the student body at UC does not seem out of reach nor unattainable for myself . I am an eager student thriving to learn physics extensively . I understand the expectations of a student

that the University of California requires and I am willing and available to apply my entirety . In my past attempts at attending colleges , circumstances out of my reach have led me to make decisions between family responsibilities and academia Recent circumstances derailed me from attaining desirable grades but did not diminish my passion for science . However I am no longer bound to these problems and I have no responsibilities that will hinder me from attaining a perfect score . A physics degree will provide a clear understanding of the basic blocks of science , reinforce my problem solving skills , assist in the interpretation of experimental data , give me the opportunity to collaborate in undergraduate research programs and mainly play a vital role in helping me decide on a specific discipline for graduate studies

My previous academic performance is an inaccurate resource to determine my future academic performance at the University of California . Upon graduating from high school I obtained a very good academic record However , post graduation left me homeless for a few months Fortunately , this dilemma did not cause me to have ultimate failure . My computer skills that I had developed over time gave me the opportunity to become an Application and Database Developer which gave me the opportunity to work for well-respected companies . Some of the companies I worked for were Genentech , HP , LucasArts , and City of Hope Medical Center , to name just a few . During employment at City of Hope Medical Center , I had the opportunity to work with scientists in various research projects . My work experience , in a research environment , gave me the opportunity to manage resources within my group , enhanced my application development skills , introduced me to hands-on scientific methodology and strengthens my desire to become a physicist

After I regained my composure due to overcoming hardships , it was my major objective to pursue a college degree in to gain the required scientific foundations to become a researcher . I was very determined and left a comfortable and challenging profession to pursue a degree in physics and to explore the various disciplines that physics offers after undergraduate studies . I now obtain a 3 .2 grade point average which I consider to be progress for myself , considering that I have been without school for nearly ten years . However my last two years of attending college were marked with family tragedies . My mother became wheelchair bound due to diabetes complications and required 24 hr care . My...
