In Annie on My Mind , Nancy Garden wrote about an adolescent girl 's discovery of her sexuality . Through a relationship with another girl Liza experienced a romantic attraction that is marked by fear , guilt hesitance , and regret for the negative effect on her family

The book attempts to share the lives of two lesbians discovering their orientation , however , in a discursive manner . While love is the main theme , several things were told discursively . It relied on words that call the reader 's sympathy rather than analytical reason . The persecutions that Eliza and her family received from the hands of the administrators of her private school and the cruel attitudes of some of her fellow students were too much of a burden that readers are easily hooked into its emotional dilemma

As far as I know , many people loved that book for some reasons . For one thing , it is well-written . Ms . Garden 's choice of words is excellent and the way she presented the characters were amazing . An excerpt above proves that word choices in conversations about queer nature matter much more than biological factor

One important consideration for people reading this book and to anyone who wants to know more about queer nature is the personality of the character . The character in this novel was shown to have no changes in psychosocial behavior though some social scientists and homosexuality therapists , particularly the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality , identified some of them and has intensive researches going on dealing with cases of homosexuals and how it can be prevented
