Global Warming : A Hot

Global warming is loosely defined in this documentary as the temperature of the earth increasing due to the atmospheric changes of carbon dioxide , greenhouse gases and pollutants and the entrapment of infrared rays . Al Gore uses time lapsed images , correlations , graphs , personal and professional testimony , statistics and emotional appeal to inspire viewers to take part in his fight to save the earth . He has indisputable evidence of its effects and shows how the US is leading in contributing to the earth 's early demise . However , he feels that

this premature depiction is not inevitable and that there are things that we can do to reverse the effects

Roger Ravel , former professor to Al Gore , is mentioned as the first to measure carbon dioxide in the atmosphere . This is essentially what interested Mr . Gore in the ramifications and what caused him to attempt to create governmental policies to alleviate the harmful effects to our planet . He also mentions a good friend of his , Lonnie Thompson , who used core drills to measure the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in a given time period by measuring how much of it was in an air bubble trapped in ice in glacial areas . He uses statistical information that measures over 650 ,000 years ago and states that it (carbon dioxide ) has never gone over 300 parts per million until now

Gore used such information , he actually went to many of the locations himself , inquiring of scientists from many nations to further his understanding of the issue and to learn what can be done to resolve it . His bout with congressional leaders is mentioned as he alludes to scientists being edited by non-scientists to skew the importance of the effects . He gives this presentation across the world and it is well received

Al Gore makes us painfully aware of the effects of modern technology on the earth 's atmosphere . Such things as nuclear weapons , automobiles factories and the like , are wreaking havoc on the earth 's atmosphere He goes on to illustrate correlations between things we have done to the earth and how the earth is retaliating , if you will . He mentions the fourteen hottest years on record occurring most recently . He also mentions the side effects , such as the fatalities of over 30 ,000 people because of massive heat , typhoons , tsunamis and a little closer to home hurricanes , such as hurricane Katrina . One thing that Al Gore points out is the US 's automakers refusal to make

Global warming is not a controversial issue . It is a real issue . Mr Gore is very pervasive as well as persuasive in his argument . He reports the...
