The independent variable is the changes in the health care sector although it is a general concept , the study was precisely conducted to measure nurses perception of their jobs in the face of health care rationalization . The dependent variable is the nurses ' perception of their jobs , since this is what is affected by the independent variable

Statistically , the independent variable could be the demographic data of the nurses such as gender , age , years in service and educational attainment while the dependent variables were the interpersonal organizational , professional and structural aspects of nursing work measured in the questionnaire
