Documentary analysis is one of the methods of qualitative research and assists in the process qualitative analysis . It is done where documents exist before the research that can be applied adequately to the research question . It is unlikely however that document analysis will be used as the sole research method but as

a form of triangulation to complement research . Benefits include low pro , low cost , it is non-reactive and is easily available . Disadvantages include inferential reasoning and low interaction . T complement the research , the researcher has identified two documents that will subject to documentary analysis . One of them is a research carried out by Johnson and Bratt (2009 ) on the viability of volunteer e-tutoring for students in elementary schools . The second one is a by Davis , Preston and Sahin (2009 ,

.135 ) which re-examines the evidence from a national initiative to train all England teachers to know when to use or not use ICT technology as part of their tutoring practices . The two documents while not providing adequate information for a conclusive research , will without a doubt significantly contribute to the research by enabling the researcher develop a proper background understanding of ICT in education
