Before answering this question it is important to give a brief background of the two revolutions ' with a view establishing the extent of their significance to the history of the country . In particular the will discuss to what extent the 2nd revolution went in resolving what the 1787 constitution had not . The period of the America revolution or the first American Revolution is an important era in the history of America that took place during the last half of the 18th Century . It was characterized by an armed confrontation between the British Empire on one hand and a wanted the thirteen colonies that had united together . The war that ensued is commonly referred the American War of Independence which was fought between 1775 and 1783 and resulting into the Declaration of independence of these colonies (McPherson , J M 45

The major driving force behind the first Civil War as the revolution was commonly referred was to fight against British suppression and exploitation that was taking place though various forms of legislations like the Navigation Acts , the Stamp Acts and other taxation Acts that enabled the British Empire tax the locals yet deny them any form of representation (McPherson , J M 46

During the revolution war France joined hands with the thirteen colonies against Britain n leading to the defeat of the later and the eventual withdrawal of British rule in America after 1783 ,after the Treaty of Paris was signed . During the revolutionary war most of the African Americans who were slaves were promised freedom by either of the two warring sides .
