The 1946 film The Big Combo is an Allied Artists Productions which was mostly filmed at Allied Artists ' studio facilities . The film generates various elements of a gangster genre . The conventional elements of any particular genre are as follows : iconography , setting , characters narrative , style , themes and audience response . In The Musketeers of Pig Alley , certain elements of a genre has been shown . For example , the setting of the story is the Lower East Side which is consisted of narrow streets and underworld alleyways filled with garbage cans .
