Senator That may stem from her gender in a time of war , or the less than jovial aura she gives to people who have had to work under or around her . The next calendar year will prove to be one of the most important in American history

One of the biggest impediments which all candidates face is the 21st century is voter apathy and which will skew the results of the aforementioned question . There are many people who just do not have any opinion about politics or current events or any kind

. There are also those who feel as though their vote will never change anything and therefore , the effort is lost . Both groups make up a large percentage of the American voting population . There are only eighty seven female candidates in the House of Representatives and sixteen in the Senate This is far from a representative government . However , who is to blame for this ? Since the passage of the 19th amendment in 1920 , women have been allowed to vote in this country . Studies show that there is not a great difference in the percentage of women who vote in comparison to that of men . It will be very interesting to see the percentage of women who vote for Hillary Clinton . However , women have shown that they will not vote for a candidate just because she is a woman but will vote for who they feel are the most qualified . This is what ought to be expected and is a compliment to the American female voter . If a large majority of women vote for Hillary Clinton , the majority of the votes will come from females who feel that Clinton is the most qualified candidate .
