Among all the living species of this planet , humans had successfully dominated the game called evolution ' to become the dominant specie But it seems that we are not content on just being the most dominant specie in the planet - we want to push things further . We are now viewing the concept of progress as the next evolutionary step that we are destined

to take . But how can we take that step wholeheartedly if it is being blamed for the gradual destruction of our home planet ? Current technologies like cars are meant to make our lives easier , but it seems that they also shorten the life of the whole planet through pollution An easy answer to this worldwide dilemma would be alternatives - alternatives that do not generate harmful effects to the environment and could still drive us safely through the fast-paced roads towards progress

There are several alternative fuels that are currently being developed but this presentation would only focus on three : natural gas electricity , and ethanol . These alternative fuels brings along the promise of fighting pollution and possibly lowering the price for fuels

Moreover , the pollution from which the whole world is suffering is observable just under the naked eye . Global warming is just one of the manifestations of the degradation of the earth that we are currently experiencing . It would be very important for all of us to make an initiative to save the earth from pollution . And the logical first step that we should take is to seek and integrate information such as those about alternative fuels

Another alternative fuel that is getting attention from those concerned about the environment is electricity . Of course , electricity is not unknown to us but when it is used as fuel for cars , the benefits it may bring might surprise us . Perhaps it 's most significant benefit would be having virtually no harmful emissions . Other benefits would be having a relatively quite engine and good starting torque (Sterrett 41-43
