It is important that both employers and employees know their rights and privileges in terms of respecting age in the workplace to avoid expensive and time-consuming conflicts and charges . According to the British organization Advisory Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS (2006 , age discrimination occurs when a person is violated at work , or at an opportunity to work , on the basis of age .
