Affirmative Action states that the minorities should be given a certain percentage of available job vacancies and also when applying as a student in a University in the United States . Some people say

that Affirmative action is discriminating against the White Americans as payment for the discriminatory abuses done on the African Slaves back then and even until the 1960s . Others say that Affirmative Action was only way to give the African Americans and the other minorities an EQUAL chance of finding work , going to school and other transactions . The following paragraphs explain in detail how managing differences can help alleviate the White American 's misinterpretation of the Affirmative Action program

Whites are not being discriminated against in the same ways that blacks were discriminated against years ago under the Affirmative Action program . The Affirmative Action program is made to purposely correct errors of the White Americans in the past . This programs temporarily gives preference to the African Americans and the other minorities over the White Americans . The program now has widened the employment door opening to women , the African Americans and other minorities . It mandates that in terms of employment , the company must prefer to hire the minority applicant or the woman applicant when both a White American and a minority (including the African Americans ) applies for only one available job position . The Affirmative Action program commands all companies to also gives priority to minorities when it comes to job promotion , awarding of government contracts , bigger recruitment efforts and our very controversial above . This is the preference of admitting minority applicants in school over the White Americans . The schools must give extra points to the African Americans and the minorities while giving no extra points to the White Americans . The extra points are because the minorities are classified as the disadvantaged groups (Fiscus ,1992

Also , many people think that affirmative action encourages preferential treatment . In fact , some even go interpret it further as bending over to the side of the minorities . The minorities generally include the African Americans , The South Americans , the Asians , The Chinese and the Japanese . Some quarters state that Affirmative action promotes preferential treatment . Generally , this is the opinion of the White Americans . Also , the White Americans theorized that they can enumerate more disadvantages of the Affirmative Action program than advantages (Anderson , 2004

Furthermore , Some quarters sat that the Affirmative Action program can be equated to minority . And , minority can be translated as lower standards .
