Today 's present society is filled with the different challenges of dealing with life and dealing with the society as well . It could be noted though that although it has been connoted by many experts that the most tragic situations in life are usually facing people in their adult stage , young people are at most times facing adversities as well . Basing from this particular fact , it could then be noted that as unique as

youths are from each other , there are certainties by which they too face their problems in different ways . Some tend to face the problems through putting their minds onto different thoughts through creating hobbies some try to release their tension with peers , some rebel against their families and some find drug addiction as a temporary release from the tensions and pressures brought about by life . In fact , according to a report that in the United States

teenagers who reported that at least half of their friends were sexually active were 31 times likelier to get drunk , 5 1 /2 times likelier to smoke and 22 1 /2 times likelier to have tried marijuana reports The New York Times (Pfendler , 1997 , 12 . The survey , conducted by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University , involved 500 parents and 1 ,000 youths between 12 and 17 years of age . Joseph A . True , youngsters are faced with the challenges of peer pressure that usually brings them to the dilemma of dealing with their situations in their lives in a negative way . As a result , they tend to destroy their future and thus get caught up with the different influences brought about to them by peer pressure and self-curiosity as well . There are several reports supporting the fact that these young children are indeed exposed to substance abuse procedures not only from outside the house but at times even inside their homes , they are exposed to the usage of drugs in an abusive manner . Psychologists have found out that there are many ways by which the youngsters are being attracted to substance abuse . Mostly , psychological problems are the frequent reasons behind the said act of addiction . And since these young teens have a hard time realizing that there are those who are prepared enough to help them get through with their problems , they turn to drug addiction to be able to find some relaxation and an imagination away from the real situations that they need to...
