Admission essay

I have come to a point in life that many people have not . I have made a firm decision to recommit myself to pursuing my dreams . While there are those who believe that with an ounce of luck and a ton of persistence anything can be accomplished , I believe that there is no reason to expend so much energy and rely on luck . I believe in taking hold of my destiny and carving out a future for myself based on the decisions that I make in life . Life is simply too short and too

precious to be left to luck alone . This is why I have chosen to apply to the University of Illinois

It is not an easy decision for me , as I thoroughly enjoyed my time at my former university and made the most of it . One of the many wonderful concepts I have learned from my parents is to strive for academic excellence while balancing life with other activities and contributions I am proud of my academic record at my previous school , as well as my extracurricular involvement in campus activities , part-time employment and community service . Yet I feel that for me to be able to reach my full potential I need to be in an environment that best caters to my interests and goals
