Abrahamic Religion

These are defined or classified as those religions that have the following two characteristics : Share a common spiritual identification with Abraham

They practice monotheistic faith i .e . this is the act of worshiping and believing in one God

The main religions categorized as Abrahamic religions are : - Christianity , Islam and Judaism . Each of the three religions has their own specific link to Abraham

Abraham was the chosen link that God had selected to create a relationship with people on earth after Adam had sinned , and mankind was

given freewill to live under their own choice of freedom (Speigel 1993

Abraham had a wife named Sarai and for ninety years they were childless . And it is through his two sons that God blessed him with that is how the three religions come into place

Isaac was the son born to Abraham by his wife Sarai after God had tested his faith and Ishmael was the son born to Abraham by his slave . Ishmael was the eldest and Isaac was the youngest , all was well until when Sarah was blessed by Isaac and she sent her slave away with Ishmael . And God visited her in the wilderness and assured her all was well and his son would have great descendants of great wealth hence Islam was born (Welker , 2007
