The play opens in Helmer 's living room one christmas eve Nora 's whole life has been ruled by her father , and then by husband Torvald . She was a pampered little girl and grew up to be a caring wife The conflict started when Krogstad , one of Torvald 's employee blackmailed her into influencing her husband not to fire him . In the end of the play , Torvald found out of this loan and is outraged He insulted Nora by calling her a liar and a hypocrite . However Krogstad decided not to send in the contract with the forged signature to end the blackmail . This overjoys Torvald and tried to win back Nora
Nora , however , realized her value to Torvald . Torvald 's harsh words had triggered something in he . She decides to leave Torvald and declared that they never really understood each other , in their eight years of marriage . She decided to leave to find her...
