INTRODUCTION

The control of behavior within an individual or a society is referred to as criminology . Sociologists , psychologists and law use it Crime prevention needs to be based on a thorough understanding of the causes of crime (Schneidler , 2007 . Crime prevention is an initiative that is put in place that eliminates the aggregate level of victimization and the risk of individual crime engagement involves the government or even the community based organisations .Most criminologists argue that the government should

be responsible and must go beyond law enforcement and criminal justice in tackling causes of crime (Schneidler , 2007

Some of the physical measures that are thought to prevent crime are usually fruitless . They only suppress the offenders who thereafter repeat the same mistake and cause more harm . The more seen effective measures are social ones such as revitalization of communities , job creation and provision of sports and leisure activities

There are some disposition theories and their preventive implications which their main aim is to show how some people are with or come to behave in a criminal manner

How situational crime is helpful to the society

Situational crime prevention is the strategies put in place intended at plummeting criminal opportunities , which arise from custom of everyday life
