On the Cusp of a Breakthrough : Progress and Promise in Cancer Research Cancer , the eating disease of life . It comes in with a violent rage to do it 's best to take us away from what we enjoy so much . It makes us weak , sick , takes our hair and strength and in most respects causes great discomfort to pain . It sends us high medical bills that we didn 't ask for and takes us away from our home and families , the places

of our solace . theless we still fight . We fight against this , both from a personal level and a scientific level but even with the fight how much promise is there

Going back in history of this ugly word , before our research advanced to the level it has , when we got cancer , there was little to be done Usually there was the crude way of removal then a cauterization of the area affected . This was unclean and patients would not survive long afterwards . Eventually it was discovered the cleaner the environment during surgery , the longer death was delayed . Before , during and after this archaic form of surgery was also the widely used realm of medicinal herbs . From the Indians to European Doctors , certain herbs were applied to the suspect area . Sometimes these areas were opened up by incision then the herbs placed . Either way this left a large crater and still did not alleviate the high death rate though it...
